Back in my Elementary Days

Angeles Adventist Elementary School was the place where God and His love was introduced to me. It is a non-Catholic school but they accept students who belong to other religious sect. Furthermore, they will not force you to join their religion instead they will help you to get closer to God. I still remember our class started with a prayer and by singing Christian songs. Our first subject was Bible wherein we talked about the different stories from the Bible and reflected on the message of the stories. Through this, I developed the habit of praying. We also have other academic subjects like Filipino, English, Math, Science, MAPE, HELE, Hekasi, Values Education, and Pathfinders class. It is also in this institution where I first learnes to join different contests like Bible quiz bee, spelling quiz bee, play for fun, folk dances, drilling and marching, and etc. Thus, I gained self-confidence and developed my talents and skills. Furthermore, our teachers taught us to treat our classmates and schoolmates as our brother and sisters in Christ. Abigail, Diana, and Eleasah were my close friends then. I still remember they often call us "Apat na Maria." At a very young age the institution taught us the value of compassion and the power of prayer. Because when we were in 5th grade our teacher gave us a project to help others by doing simple act of kindness. So together with my friends we visited hospitals in Angeles City and prayed and sang Christian songs for the sick people. Indeed,it was a very challenging activity because at our age is not that easy to enter the hospital but with God's grace and providence we did it. I enjoyed the activity and it was a memorable one. Today, I can't help not to look back on the values and virtues that I've learned from this institution. I'm so thankful with my parents for sending me in this institution and to all our teachers who generously imparted knowledge and wisdom to us. Truly, I am happy and proud that I studied here and I'm proud to be a Catholic.

Connection to God

Prayer is the nourishment for our soul and the best weapon in any circumstances. Yes, there are times that God doesn't easily answer our prayers or He sometimes says NO because He has a beautiful, plan for us. Let's keep on praying and working on our prayers. God is listening and in His time He will give the best answer. (Photo credit to Albert Lao)

Gratitude

As they say "Gratitude is the best attitude." So, the moment we wake up let's give thanks to God and believe that each day is a miracle and a gift. If there are times we encountered difficult people or situations, be thankful, because at the end of the day these will turn us into a beautiful person. Thus, there are enldess reasons to be thankful. (Photo credit to Albert Lao)

Trust in God

In life there are ups and downs, twists and turns, good and difficult people and sometimes we tend to ask where life is heading to. So, no matter what we're going through don't give up. Instead, learn how to surrender everything to God. Yes, God is in control. He will always send an instrument and give us the wisdom to overcome those obstacles in life. (Photo credit to: Albert Lao)

Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow By: Ampot

Yesterday when we’re together was unforgettable
Today that we’re miles apart is a challenge
Tomorrow we’ll be together is a blissful one

Even though we’re miles away today
Our sweet memories of yesterday will keep us closer
And give us a strengthened tomorrow

Yesterday, I’d love you
Today, I love you more
Tomorrow, I’ll love you even more
