I am Sam is a very wonderful movie that will affect the fiber of our being. It was directed by Jessie Nelson, written by Kristine Johnson and Jessie Nelson and starring Sean Penn as Sam Dawson- mentally-challenged, Dakota Fanning as Lucy Diamond Dawson the intelligent and loving daughter of Sam Dawson, Michelle Pfeiffer as Rita Harrison Williams high-powered lawyer whose marriage is falling and her son hates her, Dianne Wiest as Annie Cassell the compassionate neighbor of Sam Dawson, she takes care of Lucy when Sam can’t, Laura Dern the foster parent of Lucy during the trial period and Richard Schiff as Mr. Turner the opposition attorney. The movie was released in December 28, 2001.
The story is about a man whose brain capacity is just 7 years of age and he works at Starbucks. Then one day his daughter was borne and he named her Lucy Diamond Dawson. The mother who’s a homeless woman had left them right after they went out the hospital. So, Sam raised his daughter together with his friends who are also mentally challenged. He also have compassionate neighbor who takes care of Lucy when he would go to work and this woman had taught Lucy how to play piano. As his daughter was growing up he showered her with unconditional love, he always brought her to the park and to International Pancake House. When his daughter turned six years old, he sent her to school. This was the stage when Lucy was discriminated by her classmates because of her father disabilities and she even hold backs to her study because she doesn’t want to be smarter than her father. One day he prepared surprised party for his daughter; this is also the day when Lucy was taken away from him. He was undermined by the social worker that he cannot raise her daughter well. Because of this he had to face a custody case and he was only allowed to see his daughter 2 hours per week. With the advice of his friends he looked for a high-powered attorney. At first it was not easy for the attorney to help Sam because of her busy and hectic lifestyle. Until one day she decided to help Sam to prove to other people that she is not unsympathetic person. When Sam asked him how much he’s going to pay her, she said it’s pro bono (for free). So they worked together for the case. Sam friends had also testified in the case. But when Sam testified in the court the counsel proved to him that he is not capable to become a father, so Sam breaks down. Sam’s got depressed and he almost gave up on the case. But Rita did not gave up on the case she encouraged Sam to work hard so that he could transfer to a new apartment and he could convinced the counsel that he is capable to become a father. Along the trial Sam had also help Rita to fix her broken relationship with her son and she left her unfaithful husband. So Sam, found a new jobs and got a new apartment a few blocks away where her daughter Lucy and her foster parent were living. When Lucy found out that her father is living near their apartment at night she finds way just to be with her father, then when Lucy is asleep Sam returned Lucy to her foster parent. Until one day her foster parent decided to return Lucy to Sam because she realized that she can’t separate his daughter from him and she was amazed with Sam because he raised his daughter with great love. They made a condition that she will help him raised his daughter.
Different values were woven in the movie such as: we don’t need to be perfect to be loved and be loved, remember Jesus save us from our sins because he loves us so much; we should not judge other people because of their disability rather we should bring out the best in them and lastly quality time, respect, patience, understanding and unconditional love are the ingredients of a healthy relationship.
From the moment i wake up I can feel the joy in my heart It's another brand new day to feel God's love and share it to the world It's a day of laughter with the people around me It's a day full of hopes, surprises and gratitude...

Everyday warriors : the faces and stories of breast cancer : a reader’s note
Everyday warriors : the faces and stories of breast cancer is a masterpiece of Cathy Paras-Lara (creative director) and Jay Lara (photographer). It was published in Manila by University of Santo Tomas Publishing House in the year 2008.
This book is about twenty-one women from different walks of life who have shared their journey with cancer. Their stories will inspire, motivate, touch our heart, and uplift our spirit. Despite their circumstances they remain to be faithful to our creator, gave hope to the humanity and showed that we really matters to God and he loves us so much. For them cancer is not a disease who crumbled their life, but it a disease that reshaped their life, strengthened their relationship with their loved ones and most especially to our loving creator, and they learned to live one day at a time and make each day a meaningful one. These twenty-one women are not just survivors but they are living testimony of God.
I’d like to congratulate and thank the authors for the wonderful work of art. Keep it up! God bless always…

Filipinos are rich they just don't know about it : a book review
Filipinos are rich they just don’t know about it was excellently written by Dr. Cris Enriquez, with a foreword by Dr. Myles Munroe. It was published by C and E in Question City in year 2010. You can read this book in one sitting it consists of 118 pages and its 21 cm in height.
When I first saw the book, I was captivated with the title. The book is about who Filipinos are in the past and on how can we use it in our present time for the betterment of our country. I admired the author on how he profoundly discussed love of country, compassion, and what dream, vision, goal and hope is all about. Moreover, he mentioned prominent people who failed many times yet they never gave up until they succeed. He also shared biblical words and on how can we apply it on our daily lives. Lastly, he has shown great love for our country and I agree to what he believed that our beloved country Philippines will rise again and it will start with you and me. I am blessed that I have read the book and now my fellowmen I encourage you to read the book and receive the blessing too… Be a responsible citizen of our country and be proud to be a Filipino… God bless the Philippines and its people…

You've got to read this : authors and their masterpiece that inspired, motivated and changed me...
I never thought that I’ll become a librarian. Honestly speaking, during undergrad days I’m not a frequent library user or shall I say my fondness in reading is very little. Those were the days wherein I only rely on my textbooks and the lectures given by our professors. Sometimes I read newspapers just to check for my horoscope and know the hottest and latest in showbiz (hahaha… that was then). In spite of this, I was destined to become a librarian. I am happy and proud of our profession because it molded my whole being and I was like a cocoon that turns into a butterfly. Learning to organize library collections, serving the library community, attending seminars, and reading inspirational books were the treasures I found in our profession. My dear friends, the following authors and their masterpiece inspired, motivated and changed me:
The difference between knowledge and faith authored by Ed Lapiz. After reading the book it made me realized that living our life with only knowledge of something is like living inside the box. It means it is not enough that we know something will happen but we should believe that it will happen- Knowledge without Faith is useless… So get out of the box! Have Faith and make a difference… Don’t focus on what pain, sickness and problems can bring us because there is nothing to fear about when God is with us and obeying the will of God will put us in the right path… Keep in mind the bigger Faith we have the greater success we’ll have.
25 ways to win with people : how to make others feel like a million bucks authored by John Maxwell and Les Parrott is all about building a positive and healthy relationships, how to give honest compliments to a person in front of other people, the positive feeling it can give to other people when you remembered their names and the memories you had, and how to encourage others to pursue their dreams. After reading the book it made me realized that bringing out the best in others will also bring out the best in you.
The Secret authored by Rhonda Byrne, the book is about the Law of Attraction meaning whatever comes into your mind comes out of your life. Yes, it’s about attracting positive people, things, events and values in our life. How can you do this? Of course it will always begin in “YOU”. Meaning you will make things happen the way you want it to happen! You will visualize the things that you want to achieve, make and believe that is yours already and once you have it treasure it and share it to others.
Goal-free living : how to have the life that you want now authored by Stephen Shapiro, the book is about living for each moment, following our passion to possibly have a successful life as the author said “Joy comes from the journey not from reaching the destination.”
The Last lecture authored by Randy Pausch, co-authored by Jeffrey Zaslow, the book is about a man who had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and was asked to give a lecture. Despite of his conditions he gave a lecture about achieving your childhood dreams, conquering the brick walls in our lives, enabling the dreams of others, and seizing every moment. In the book you will see the importance of family, the true meaning of compassion, generosity and sacrifice. In a nutshell the book is about a dying man who taught about living.
Bo Sanchez Soulfood Newsletter @ www.bosanchez.ph his articles portrait the true meaning of FAITH, HOPE and LOVE. The articles made me realized that the simpler we are the happier life we’ll have, we can only enjoy God’s blessing when we share it to others and we should always try to see the good things in everyone.
I still recalled how other people underestimated me for being so naive and fragile. Truly, life changed after gradually applying the lessons implied from the books. A quiet type lady turned to high-spirited woman. In a nutshell these books convey to us that we should always think positive, learn to make a difference and live each day as if it’s the last day our life.

Good Morning Story!
I wanna share this story with you. One day we had our seminar about Public Relation 101. It was one o'clock in the afternoon when the speaker went up to stage and greeted us good morning with a big smile. :)... So everybody wondered why he greeted us good morning since it is already afternoon. Then the speaker told a story, that there is one company wherein people who are working there always greet each other "GOOD MORNING" no matter what time of the day, because they believed that morning is a symbol of "HOPE" which means that tomorrow is another day for us to live, laugh and love. A very short yet very inspiring story which made me realized that if there's one thing left in us it is should be "HOPE"- for as long as we are alive we can always fulfill our dreams. Work on your dreams and believe in the power of it...
Good morning friends!
God bless everyone

The Family as a Basic Factor in Building a Society
The family is an essential element of society. It is where the child evolves into a mature individual. It is where we first learn how to walk, talk, read, write and communicate with others. It is considered the first place of learning and establishing what is right from wrong as well as being responsible for our actions (Jimenez-David, 1995), pp. 456.
The family is united by God’s love and it is the seed of love that gives life to the society (Sin, 1993), pp. 475. One of the important tasks of our parents is to teach us the value of love, compassion, fortitude, give us the attention, and assistance that is conducive for life-long learning (A.L.A., 1995), pp. 458.
Unfortunately, the family, especially the parents, sometimes may teach children be contemptuous, fearful, self-centered, unfair and deceitful, where society reflects the kind of family we have (Aldalba-Lim, 1987), pp 460. If the family can’t teach us good values, as children, we always have a choice to obtain it by observing other people (A.L.A. 1995), pp. 459. Furthermore, he mentioned that he opt to turn negative values into positive ones.
Therefore, the success or failure of society depends with the success or failure of skills, attitudes, values and beliefs of the family, which is actually the most influential albeit considered the smallest unit of society. It is the family that builds, shapes, and develops society. Thus, it can be surmised that the seed of wisdom, love, faith, and hope grows in the family.

The Prayer
Prayer is the nourishment for our soul. It connects us to God and to our fellowmen. Do prayers were always answered? Yes, they are answered at the right time, all we need to do is believe. Prayer is answered if we look for the answer. When we ask something to God, make it happen do not wait for the things to happen. "Do your best and God will do the rest". Keep in mind that life without faith is boring.
How do we pray? When we are praying we should closed our eyes and prayers should come from the heart. Talk to God as if you are talking to your father or to your best friend-feel his presence in your conversation with him. Let our prayers be full of sincerity, compassion and passion.
My dear friends, let's pray for one another and let's reach out to our fellowmen by means of praying for their goodness. May the spirit of the Lord be always with us... Amen
